Safiya Ayuen
Safiya brings an analytical and community-informed lens to child care policy reform. Through her work leading policy development, analysis, and translation within a systemic-change initiative, she made complex policy developments accessible to community audiences, while also translating lived experience into actionable policy recommendations aligned with provincial and federal frameworks. Her work mobilized immigrant and refugee women to engage meaningfully in child care policy dialogue and contributed to sector conversations on equitable expansion of universal $10aDay spaces. Safiya holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of British Columbia.
